After embarking on a food journey round Asia and Australia, Matt and Finn Byrne were so blown away by the flavours they sampled that they literally worked out a way to bottle it!
It was in 2010 that they began their adventure touring across Asia before setting up home for six years in Australia.
Then in a tiny kitchen in their new home in Melody Street in Sydney, foodie Matt set to work cooking up a storm in his spare time, trying to recreate some of the wonderful flavours and textures they had enjoyed during their travels.
Matt and Finn decided to come back home to Ireland in 2016, got married, and, with two toddler boys, settled by the sea in Wicklow Town.
Matt’s love for creating fresh, flavoursome foods had not waned and he continued to perfect recipes of his own using only the freshest natural ingredients.
It was in 2017 that he learned how to bottle his love for food and flavour and bring it to the supermarket shelf.
Many hours of labour in his kitchen led to the birth of the now renowned Melody Street Foods brand – a range of delicious, unique, award-winning handmade sauces.
Bursting with natural ingredients such as turmeric, fresh ginger, fresh chilli and cumin – Melody Sauce literally makes your meal sing!
Now working from a kitchen in Penny Lane in Kilcoole, Melody Street Foods sauces and flavoured mayonnaises are still handmade with a slow cooking process ensuring that they are packed with flavour.
And it is important to Matt that, where possible, the ingredients for his products comes from local Irish suppliers and local fruit and vegetable shops.
The beauty of the Melody Street Foods’ range lies not only in its great taste and the goodness of its natural, fresh, locally-sourced ingredients but people love it for its versatility as it can be paired with a variety of foods and enjoyed at every meal.
