Wicklow Naturally Chef Demonstrations
We are delighted to welcome Maguire Cookery Demos back to Wicklow this year to host a full day of cookery demonstrations with Wicklow produce.
- The event will be hosted by Santina Kennedy, Wicklow Naturally coordinator. Santina is the Blas na hÉireann Producers Champion for 2025, in recognition of her work showcasing Irish artisan produce through cultural events and advocating for recognition of the importance of food culture in Ireland.
- We are delighted to welcome Deusa de Assis of ‘Hug in a Bowl’ to open the cookery show. Deusa will be cooking some of her tried and tested recipes for babies and toddlers – (perhaps the most discerning of dinner guests!) – so we are excited to see what is on her menu. Deusa has recently launched her baby and toddler food business, and her demonstration will include some of her most popular recipes. Deusa has promised us that her recipes can be enjoyed by not- so- little kids too!

Deirdre who is the author of Chop, Cook, Yum, will be demonstrating recipe ideas from her repertoire of favourites that can be cooked by kids and enjoyed by all the family. She’ll also be giving great tips on how children can cook safely under supervision to encourage healthy eating and independence.
- Our next demonstration is by renowned Wicklow Chef Paul Smith. Paul is Chairperson of Wicklow Naturally and coordinator of Healthy Food Made Easy. An award winning former restaurateur, caterer, and food safety trainer, Paul will share some great recipe ideas from his years of experience of cooking for clients which included the President of the USA! He’ll be sharing no fuss recipe ideas for all the family to enjoy.
- Lorraine Aspill from Daisy Cottage Farm will be demonstrating some tea-time favourites to cook for family and friends. Daisy Cottage Farm is one of the most celebrated businesses on the Irish food festival scene, with devoted fans queueing for Lorraine’s legendary baking. Lorraine now offers baking classes to visitors to her farmhouse in Kiltegan, Co Wicklow and will be bringing a taste of her kitchen to the Tinahely show.
- Santina Kennedy will close the event with a Wicklow food and drink shopping guide. She will highlight some of the great Wicklow produce available in shops across the county with recipe ideas, serving suggestions and recommendations for great food and drink gifts.
- In addition to the demonstrations, Wicklow Naturally will showcase a full display of the selection of food and drink produced in County Wicklow. Members of Wicklow Naturally will be available throughout the day to advise on where to buy and to encourage visitors to the show to shop local!
Save the date – we look forward to seeing you there!
