Joyful Bakehouse
Joyful Bakehouse began in Rathnew with a simple idea: to create the kind of food Justin and Erum would be excited to bring to someone’s table.
Their South Asian roots, years spent growing up and living in the Middle East, and experiences gathered through travel have shaped the way they think about food. They grew up with flavours that were bold and generous, where spices, nuts and sweets were closely tied to sharing, hospitality and celebration.
They wanted to bring a little of that feeling to Wicklow – something from home, something new, something familiar and something different.
At Joyful Bakehouse, fusion is not about combining flavours simply for the sake of being unusual. It is about curiosity: adding saffron to a soft milk cake, cardamom to shortbread, pairing pistachio with chocolate and crisp kataifi, or creating hand-braided breads made for the centre of the table.
They create celebration bakes, gifting boxes and curated dessert tables for birthdays, family gatherings, office events and other special occasions. Also, supplying a selection of freshly baked treats to local cafés in Wicklow.
Their hope is that every bake becomes part of the moment – something people share, talk about and remember.
They source locally wherever possible and hope to grow alongside Wicklow’s food community through markets, café partnerships, local collaborations and opportunities to give back.
Joyful Bakehouse is where curiosity meets comfort and where flavour gives people another reason to gather.
