Wicklow Naturally is looking to contract a new Coordinator

JOB TITLE:  Wicklow Naturally Coordinator

ROLE:  The members of the Wicklow Naturally network have identified that the key priorities for 2024 are to create and manage content for the various social media platforms, organise members’ participation in PR opportunities, organise networking events, increase interaction with Visit Wicklow and Failte Ireland, work with the Board to secure funding for additional activities and coordinate with members in the design and implementation of the annual October Feast event.  The Network Coordinator’s role is to deliver these objectives, as set out in the Action Plan 2024.

BUDGET:  €20,000 (including travel and associated costs)

NATURE OF CONTRACT:  One year contract, part time, work-from-home, with travel around County Wicklow. The role will suit a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working alone, but also confident interacting with a diverse range of people. Position may be extended further on successful completion of contract.  Flexibility required as role may include some evening and weekend work. A minimum of two references will be required.

TRANSPORT/TRAVEL:  The applicant should have a full driving licence and their own transport as the position will see you traveling throughout County Wicklow and occasionally neighbouring counties.

REPORTING TO:  Board of Directors, Wicklow Naturally, through monthly meetings and in line with annual work plan

The key duties and responsibilities of the Coordinator may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Marketing and Communications
  • Member Engagement
  • Event Planning and Coordination
  • Identify Funding opportunities
  • Preparing reports for the board on monthly progress and plans for the next month

Marketing and Communication:

The Coordinator will ensure that Wicklow Naturally maintains a strong social media presence and will monitor, report and grow social media engagement.  The Coordinator will manage and update the Wicklow Naturally website, blog posts, WhatsApp group, social media channels, local radio and media presence and maximise opportunities to engage with national media thereby gaining maximum exposure.  The Coordinator will engage with the members and receive updates and news which can be used to promote Wicklow Naturally and its members.

Member Engagement:

The Coordinator will work with members and remain aware of all newsworthy activity or stories within the community which can be used to promote Wicklow Naturally’s members. The Coordinator will ensure that all members are communicated with on a regular basis, will maintain a database of members and will remain the primary point of contact for members.

Event Planning and Coordination:

The Coordinator will liaise with the members and the Board to determine the events members would like to attend.  Participation at events will be subject to final approval by the Board, as part of an annual work plan.  The Coordinator will plan and co-ordinate events and will be responsible for costing the events, arranging the timetable and liaising with the appointed Events Management Company and PR Company(as relevant).  Attendance at events will be a requirement.


The Coordinator will work with the Board to identify relevant funding streams to implement additional actions contained in the Food Strategy Action Plan and will manage all funding received by Wicklow Naturally and report on same.  The Coordinator will maintain accurate records of all income (to include membership fees) and expenditure.


As the management of the network relies on a voluntary Board, membership fees and financial assistance from Wicklow County Council, it is very important that the candidate for the role has excellent planning and concise reporting expertise, to make best use of the network’s time and financial resources, and to ensure a steady flow of communication across the network.

Skills Required

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and marketing skills, especially social media across the platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook and Whatsap.
  • A proven track record (portfolio) of prior social media work.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage a budget and provide comprehensive reports
  • Event planning and coordination skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Ideally – Strong knowledge of Wicklow food and beverage producers and retailers, knowledge of culinary trends, chefs, and food related content

About Wicklow Naturally

Wicklow Naturally is County Wicklow’s food and drink network established to champion the food and drink producers of County Wicklow and the retailers who support them. It was formed by a collaboration of local food and drink producers, Wicklow County Council, County Wicklow Partnership, the Local Enterprise Office and Wicklow Tourism. Wicklow Naturally was born out of the Wicklow Food and Beverage Strategy launched in April 2019.

Wicklow Naturally is now a vibrant, positive, sustainable, and environmentally conscious network that showcases the finest food and drink from County Wicklow. The Board is delighted to announce that we are looking for a Network Coordinator to build on the great work done to date and to support the ongoing needs of the network.
